Sheena Tahilramani leads the marketing and publicity team at 7 Second Strategies. We’ve affectionately nicknamed her ‘new media ninja’ for her proven ability to develop and implement effective digital marketing campaigns that deliver results.
Prior to joining 7 Second Strategies, Sheena worked as chief of staff to Karl Rove. In this capacity, she was responsible for creating Karl Rove’s digital footprint. She managed and executed a social media strategy that provided meaningful channels through which he was able to actively engage followers and promote his message and work. Through effective cross-promotion she built from scratch a network that now consists of over 5 million Twitter followers, 56,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook, 6,000 Instagram followers and a sizeable email list.
Acting as Karl Rove’s media liaison, she organized over 1,700 media interviews and has worked with numerous media outlets, including Fox News Channel, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, BBC, SkyNews, Sean Hannity Radio, Hugh Hewitt Radio, Forbes, TIME, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times, amongst others.
From media placement to social media monitoring, Sheena was responsible for managing all facets of the national book tour (110 cities in 90 days) promoting Karl Rove’s memoir Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight. She was an instrumental part of the team that executed the marketing plan that landed Courage and Consequence on the New York Times bestseller list.
Previously, Sheena worked in the White House Office of Political Affairs. She also worked at the Los Angeles Times’ Orange County bureau as an editorial assistant and her articles have appeared in the Queens Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times, and at the Science Museum of Minnesota.
Sheena received a M.S. in Journalism from The Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University in May 2007. Prior to Columbia, she attended the University of California, Irvine and graduated in June 2005 with a B.A. in Literary Journalism.
Sheena enjoys figure-skating and watching ice-hockey, and has worked for three NHL teams—The Mighty Ducks, The Los Angeles Kings, and the New York Rangers.
